After serving the Vandalia Butler Food Pantry for almost 15 years, Kathy Garver has retired from her position as Director of the Vandalia Butler Food Pantry on August 1, 2019. We will miss Kathy running the daily operations. However, she will still be with us. Kathy has volunteered to stock shelves on Mondays each week. Kathy has many accomplishments during her tenure as director.
- Kathy secured enough community donations and support to allow us to serve local families every 60 days instead of every 90 days.
- She was awarded the 2015 Distinguished Service Award for her leadership of the food pantry since 2004.
- The city of Vandalia proclaimed August 20th as “Kathy Garver Day”.
Under her leadership, the pantry continued to strive towards completing our mission and made many improvements towards that goal. We are thankful that Kathy was able to donate those 15 years to our organization. We wish Kathy all the best in her “retirement”.
